The Homeowner's Goal

What the project needed to accomplish.

The homeowner wanted the aging electrical service replaced, the home's original 200-amp capacity restored, and additional breaker spaces for future electrical projects. The existing panel was completely full even though the home still had available electrical capacity.

Existing Conditions

What we found before starting.

The home had originally been supplied by a 200-amp electrical service. When the existing solar system was installed, the original panel was not suitable for the required solar connection, so the main breaker had been reduced from 200 amps to 175 amps. The panel was also old and completely out of usable breaker spaces, leaving no practical room for additional circuits.

Final Result

What changed for the homeowner.

The homeowner received new solar-ready 200-amp service equipment, restored electrical capacity, and significantly more breaker space for future circuits. The new main panel properly supports the existing solar connection, while the added subpanel provides room for future electrical projects without overcrowding the service equipment. This project corrected the equipment limitation that had reduced the service from 200 amps to 175 amps and created a cleaner, more flexible electrical system for the home.
