The Homeowner's Goal
What the project needed to accomplish.
The homeowner needed an unsafe service mast permanently corrected after it began pulling away from the exterior wall. They also wanted the aging electrical service replaced, the available utility capacity increased from 100 amps to 125 amps, and an improperly installed generator connection replaced with a safe, code-compliant generator inlet and mechanical interlock.
Existing Conditions
What we found before starting.
The existing service mast had originally been installed at a significant angle instead of entering straight into the top of the service equipment. That angled configuration placed ongoing stress on the mast supports and exterior wall, contributing to the equipment pulling away from the building. The original panel was also older and crowded, and the existing generator outlet had not been installed with a proper listed transfer method.

Final Result
What changed for the homeowner.
The homeowner received a permanently secured and correctly aligned service mast, new 125-amp service equipment, improved breaker organization, and a safe generator connection with a listed mechanical interlock. By building out the mounting surface behind the panel, Surge Electric eliminated the original angled mast configuration and created a straight, structurally secure connection into the new service equipment. The completed installation corrected the immediate safety concern while also updating the home's electrical service and backup-power connection.
