The Homeowner's Goal
What the project needed to accomplish.
The customer needed a commercial appliance returned to service after experiencing an electrical problem at the power connection. The goal was to determine whether the issue was with the appliance itself or the electrical supply and complete the necessary repair.
Existing Conditions
What we found before starting.
Inspection revealed significant overheating and arcing damage at the appliance plug and mating receptacle. The damaged connection showed signs consistent with a poor or loose electrical connection that may have generated increasing resistance and heat over time. Portions of the plug, receptacle, and conductor insulation were visibly burned and deteriorated.
Final Result
What changed for the homeowner.
The damaged plug, receptacle, and affected conductor ends were removed and replaced with new connection components. Fresh conductor ends were re-terminated to eliminate the burned and deteriorated portions of the original connection. The repair restored a proper electrical connection for the appliance and removed the visibly overheated components that had caused the service issue.
