The Homeowner’s Goal
The homeowner wanted to replace an existing ceiling light with a ceiling fan. The goal was to add air movement in the room while retaining a convenient overhead light.
Existing Conditions
The room had a round ceiling light at the location selected for the fan. Converting this location to a ceiling fan required a fan-rated ceiling box to support the fan’s weight and the movement and vibration produced during operation. The work included this support upgrade as part of the installation.
