Multiple Electrical Issues Diagnosed & Repaired During Service Call — Reno
A residential troubleshooting service call that began with several receptacles reported as not working and expanded into multiple electrical concerns throughout the home. Surge Electric identified the cause of the receptacle issue, corrected loose lighting connections, evaluated a sensor-controlled bathroom exhaust fan, and resolved two chirping alarm devices during the same visit.

The Homeowner's Goal
What the project needed to accomplish.
The original request was to determine why several receptacles in the home appeared to have no power. While onsite, the customer also asked for help with additional electrical concerns, including a bathroom exhaust fan, two non-working light fixtures, and two chirping alarm devices.
Existing Conditions
What we found before starting.
Testing showed that the receptacles were operational and were controlled by existing wall switches rather than having an electrical failure. The bathroom exhaust fan was also functioning as designed and was controlled by an automatic humidity and steam sensor. Two light fixtures were found with loose electrical connections at existing wire-nut splices, and two alarm devices were chirping because their batteries required replacement.
Final Result
What changed for the homeowner.
What initially appeared to be several electrical failures was narrowed down to a combination of normal switched-receptacle operation, a sensor-controlled exhaust fan, loose lighting connections, and depleted alarm batteries. By troubleshooting each concern individually, Surge Electric was able to resolve multiple issues during a single service visit without unnecessarily replacing equipment that was still functioning properly.
