The Homeowner's Goal

What the project needed to accomplish.

The homeowner needed the rooftop swamp cooler diagnosed and returned to service after it stopped operating. The goal was to identify the electrical failure, complete a permanent repair, and restore dependable cooling rather than leave another temporary wiring patch in place.

Existing Conditions

What we found before starting.

Troubleshooting revealed improperly completed electrical connections at the evaporative cooler and additional splices left hanging in open air inside the attic. The conductors were not properly enclosed or supported, creating unreliable connections and a potential shock, arcing, and fire hazard. The wiring required a complete cleanup and permanent correction before the unit could be safely returned to service.

Final Result

What changed for the homeowner.

The homeowner's swamp cooler was restored to service and began delivering cooled air again. The loose midair connections were replaced with enclosed, supported wiring, and the electrical connection to the rooftop unit was properly secured. The completed repair corrected the immediate outage while also removing wiring conditions that could have caused additional failures or created a serious safety hazard.
