Surge Electric relocated an existing Tesla Wall Connector from inside a West Reno garage to an exterior mounting location for convenient driveway charging. The homeowner can now access the charger outside while keeping the garage available for storage.
The Homeowner’s Goal
The homeowner parked his Tesla outside and wanted to use the garage for storage. With the charger mounted inside, plugging in meant repeatedly opening and closing the garage door to access the charging cable. He wanted an outdoor charging location that better matched how he used the home and parked his car.
Existing Conditions
The existing Tesla Wall Connector was mounted on an interior garage wall. It served the homeowner's charging needs, but its location made charging a vehicle parked in the driveway inconvenient. The project involved relocating the existing charger to a more accessible location outside the garage.

Final Result
The relocated Tesla charger is accessible directly from outside, so the homeowner no longer needs to open the garage to retrieve the charging cable. The exterior installation supports his driveway parking routine and lets him keep the garage available for storage.
